Meta’s annual conference, Meta Connect, is happening September 27-28 and is expected to provide the full reveal of the company’s brand new virtual reality headset, the Meta Quest 3.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will deliver the keynote presentation on the event’s first day, likely focusing on Meta’s latest innovations in VR, AR, and AI tech. The rest of the two-day event will offer both in-person and virtual sessions detailing more of the company’s work on expanding the metaverse.
Meta has confirmed that Meta Connect will feature “an in-depth look” at the new Quest 3 headset. Some key specs have already been teased, including a thinner design with pancake lenses, upgraded processing power, new touch controllers, and enhanced mixed-reality capabilities.
The Quest 3 is poised to be a significant upgrade over Meta’s current Quest 2 headset. It will provide sharper visuals, more immersive mixed-reality interactions, and the ability to handle cutting-edge VR experiences. It’s also been confirmed that Quest Link and Air Link functionality will also feature on Quest 3, enabling users to play PC VR content in addition to using the standalone headset’s capabilities.
Meta is expected to announce full ordering details including price and release date during or soon after Meta Connect. Rumors point to the Quest 3 launching in October for around $500.
